I place a lot of the blame for the growth of New Age on today’s Christian churches. Too many churches have sermon after sermon on curing loneliness, overcoming grief, time management, handling stress etc, and never give sermons that strengthens the congregation’s faith that the Bible IS the Word of God, that Heaven and Hell ARE realities, and that Jesus IS the only way to Heaven. If these foundational realities are not established, many people will shop around for "spiritual" messages like one shops for a car. Paul "reasoned" when he shared his faith (Acts 17:2), so should we. Please don’t get me wrong, sermons on loneliness are important, I just think the church should mix in one apologetic lesson per month.
